5. Close to bus/town? Many active adult communities offer this advantage.

6. Water views? There are condominium complexes that offer gorgeous sound views- while some are not over 55, the availability for this characteristic exists on the North Fork!

Laurie – Retirement communities aren’t what they used to be. The Boomers are looking at amenities and maintenance free as mandatory. Builders and planners are doing a good job keeping pace with the demands of this ever increasing group of homebuyers.

Do retirees get any tax advantages in Long Island, NY? I’m thinking there must be a lot of retired city workers? Firemen and Policemen? Is Long Island still friendly to this over 55 set?
